1. What the service is — and is not

StateHandbook.com is document-preparation software. It assembles an employee handbook for your own business from a curated bank of policies, selected by the states, industry, headcount and options you enter. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship. It does not review your business, your practices or your existing documents.

The policy bank is researched against published primary sources, each cited and linked in the compliance summary you receive. It has not been reviewed or approved by an attorney. Employment law changes; each policy carries the source it was written from and the date the policy set took effect so you can verify it. You are responsible for reviewing, completing and adopting the handbook before you issue it to employees, and we recommend having counsel review it.

We make no representation that a handbook produced here makes you compliant with any law. Compliance depends on what you actually do, not on what a document says.

2. Payment, regeneration, refunds

The handbook is a one-time purchase processed by Stripe. After payment you may regenerate the same handbook while you correct your answers, within reasonable fair-use limits. If a generated document contains a defect we cannot correct through regeneration, we will refund the purchase in full — write to the support address below within 14 days.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the service only for a business you own or are authorised to act for, and to complete every item marked [EMPLOYER TO COMPLETE] before issuing the handbook. The service never invents a policy, a benefit or a fact about your business: anything it does not know, it marks for you.

4. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Archieboy Holdings' aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the handbook giving rise to the claim.

Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Your account email; the business information you enter (company name, states, industry, headcount, the name and contact details of the person who handles HR, your pay schedule and time-off policy); and standard technical logs. Do not enter Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, health information, or any individual employee's personal details — a handbook needs none of them. Payments are processed by Stripe; card details never touch our servers.

2. Retention

Generated documents and the answers you entered are retained for 90 days after delivery so you can re-download and regenerate, then purged automatically. Purchase records are retained as required for accounting.

3. AI processing

No language model processes your handbook. Policies are assembled deterministically from our own policy bank and the fields you typed, by our own software, on our own servers. Your answers are not sent to any AI provider, and are never used to train anything.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your information. Infrastructure providers (hosting, payments, email delivery) process data only as needed to operate the service.
